I think it's not really the technology, but rather the idea or some chatkill like that. Like an imaginary inception you can make in arts and crafts class or something.

I believe it is called a placebo effect, or something akin to it.

I wouldn't call it that, but basically, yes.

It's a spiritual thing basically. The belief is that the bad dreams will get caught on the web portion of it while the good goes through the hole in the center.

Image Moving on, it definitely could be a stress related issue. I've been feeling a bit of it lately and it all had to do with money.

Due to it being the Winter months, work has been slow, and thus, hours had to be cut. I'm just afraid I might oversleep and miss out on work. While it's great getting some time to myself, in all honesty, it's not so great when you worry about bill payments.

Image He's a little paranoid... He loses a few hours and all of a sudden he thinks his life is over, despite how many times we've all pointed out that things will be fine.

Image ...Right.

Regardless, point is, I am just so afraid of being late for my own job because that means even fewer hours and thus, more funds are lost that way. Thus, that would turn into nightmares about me being late all the time as it's what I'm stressing over the most right now. Makes sense.

So I've had a series of nightmares recently unconnected in anyway except one. In all of them, there is a single figure, well, sometimes several of the same figure. That figure is the Doctor Who monster The Silence. They never do anything, they just seem to be observing.

I only remember the details of my last dream with them. The inside of my house had been turned into a massive factory of some kind. Bigger on the inside, on par with the show. I don't think I've ever remembered one dream while I was in another, so this was a first, but apparently I've had enough. As soon as I saw them inside the factory I remembered all the time they've been there in my dreams and grabbed a snow shovel from outside--we don't own a shovel and it never snows here, but hey, dream logic- and swing it at the nearest Silent. The chatkill ducked and the other two made a run for it, apparently not wanting to get involved. I looked away from the Silent that I had tried to attack and when I looked back he was gone.

I've never actually seen the sixth series of Doctor Who and know little about The Silence, so maybe I'm just naturally afraid of them the same way I was afraid of Slederman, whom they resemble, when I first discovered him. Either way, Steven Moffat is really good at scaring people.

So here's another one I had a couple nights ago:

It started out as an average dream. Nothing special. Except that I fell asleep. I've never fallen asleep in my dreams before. This dream had me in the the local mall.Except it looked like had been designed on drugs. In fact the entire world was on drugs. The only normal thing was the book store, but the books were drugged up, too. Somehow a single book told me that the key to escaping this world was speed. My mode of escape? Jumping off the roof of course.

So I wake, still in the first dream, but then am sent back to sleep and back to the psychodelic mall almost immediately. I manage to find someone I know within that dream and explain what's going on. He agrees to help me, but soon turns out to be evil and tries to kill me. I manage to find a bike and head outside. Thankfully the drug mall is built on a hill and I ride down the hill and I wake up.

Once.

So basically, I may still be in a dream and you all might just be figments of my imagination.

I guess I can tell you all about these three dreams that I had all in the same night. I had them a while ago actually, but I still remember them.

In the first dream, I was in a place that resembled my college ballroom. Everyone was getting ready to put on some play, which later turned out to be about Harry Potter. Before the play actually happened, though, I remember that I was dashing around in the hallways outside the ballroom, finding objects that were supposedly Horcruxes and destroying them, even though they were nothing like the objects in the book or movie. Example: a birdcage. Yeah. Weird. I dunno why I thought I had to destroy them anyway--I mean, yeah, they were Horcruxes, but looking back, they could easily have been props for the play. I never thought of that in the dream for some reason, but, well, that's how things go, I guess.

So then the play came. I was cast as Harry Potter. I met the actors for Ron and Hermione backstage, and apparently we were so in-character and glad to see each other that we hugged each other. It was then time for us to go onstage.

...Um...right. I do recall some details about the play itself. It apparently starred Harry Potter's daughter and her friends, who had somehow gotten into a situation where they were confronting Snape in a dark hallway, who was intending to revive Voldemort somehow. Yeah, this totally disregards the canon continuity. Anyway, Ron, Hermione and I were about to burst through some drapery in a heroic arrival moment. I got the idea of simply ensnaring the three of us in the drapery because, as my logic would have it, Snape would think it simply got blown off the wall during the spell battle he was having with the main characters, and then I would burst out of the heap unexpectedly and catch him by surprise. I don't recall telling Ron or Hermione my plan. I just went with it.

So we leapt into the drapery, tumbled across the floor, and lay there. I felt something hot burn into the side of the fabric, which I assumed was a stray spell that had hit it. I figured then was as good a time as ever to jump from the drapery and confront Snape. I did so, saying something heroic and cliche like, "I will not allow you to resurrect the Dark Lord!" or something like that. Only at that time, Snape wasn't there anymore. In his place was a white lizard, which I somehow knew was Voldemort himself. Taken by surprise, I was forced to improvise my line. So I said awkwardly, "Oh... You're him." O_o

I think that's pretty much where the dream ended. Honestly, I'm surprised that I had a Harry Potter dream in the first place.

Ready for dream number 2?? awesome; So, in this dream, I was viewing an old lady's house from indoors. This old lady was apparently very senile and gullible. I mean, she'd have to be for what happened next. See, there was this red-skinned dude who showed up in the lady's back yard, walked up to the door, and knocked on it. He was supposedly an alien, although he was dressed in a black business suit and well-acquainted with human etiquette, although I could tell that this was just a part of his cunning, deceitful behavior. The giveaway was, in addition to his red skin, he had horns coming out of his head. I guess he looked sort of like Darth Maul in a business suit. Anyway, the lady answered the door and the alien guy was very polite and courteous to her. Then he told her something which I didn't pick up, but it became apparent later.

It kind of timeskips from there. I know the alien showed up at the house more than once, but I only remember the results of the second encounter. The next thing I know, the lady is walking down her street with two men, apparently her relatives, escorting her on either side. One of the men asks the lady, "Why are we walking down this street?" and she smiles and answers, "Because my house is a maze that contains a vicious beast inside it!" The two men are obviously confused and they look behind them, where they see the alien guy walking about a yard behind them, casually. The same man asks the lady, "And who's that guy following us?" and the lady answers, "A knight!" The men look around once more, and sure enough, the alien dude has traded his business suit for a suit of shining armor in the blink of an eye.

Then the alien dude closed the gap between him and the lady's group enough to tell the lady, "Remember, the beast is very dangeous!" and then walked off. The lady and her escorts continued walking until a white dog (a poodle, perhaps?) appeared in their path. This dog was looking at them with its tongue hanging out, looking pretty friendly, but the lady just stared at it with widening eyes, coming to the conclusion that this was the beast. She started to panic. The dream ended.

And now, for the third and final dream! This one's probably my favorite of the bunch. I'm sure it had some influence from me playing Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective recently, because it was set in the same type of style and gameplay, so to speak. It started out inside an old, abandoned warehouse where Johnny Bravo--yes, Johnny Bravo--is standing and talking to a pay phone. No, he's not on the phone--the phone is apparently possessed by a ghost and manipulating it to talk to Johnny, much like Ray in Ghost Trick. I forget what they were talking about, but it was apparent that the phone was asking Johnny to help him with something. Johnny was like, "Yeah, whatever," and walked over to a big cushy chair in the warehouse, sat down on it, and pulled out a remote to turn on a TV just ahead of him. The pay phone was like, "...What are you doing? Aren't you going to help me?" and Johnny says back, "Yeah, well, I was just gonna head home after this anyway..." obviously having no intention of doing whatever the phone asked of him. I remember actually laughing in-dream at this. I don't think I've ever done that before. Anyways...

Johnny Bravo continued to sit there and watch TV. Over time, his body gradually grew grayish-brownish, as if he was rusting over. Weird, yes. It reminded me of the Metal Mario power-up, except that this looked more stony and, of course, rusty. The ghost, exasperated with Johnny's laziness, entered the Ghost World (see, I knew it had Ghost Trick influence!) and discovered some orange radiation waves coming from...it was either the TV or Johnny himself. The ghost asked about the waves, and Johnny said something like, "Oh, those are just TV waves!" like he would know. Perhaps it was actually those waves that had turned Johnny into a rusty statue-like being, or maybe it was the other way around; he was emanating the waves now that he was rust-colored. Anyway, this didn't really have much to do with things in the long run.

Johnny Bravo continued to watch TV. The ghost was pretty much helpless. Then suddenly, an army of forklifts without visible drivers bursts through the walls of the warehouse. They start taking all of the objects that are still lying in the warehouse, including the TV that Johnny's watching. The pay phone just watches this and is like, "...Well. This is an unexpected turn of events. (Must be karma.)"

At this point, the view shifts from the 2D perspective of Ghost Trick and is now 3D. Two forklifts are on either side of the chair that Johnny Bravo is sitting on, with a huge rubber band stretched between them. A third forklift has lifted up Johnny's chair from the other side of the band and is pulling it back against the band, stretching it like a slingshot. Johnny, meanwhile, is flailing about on his chair, apparently moving just as easily even though he is still completely stony/rusty. He yells, "No, not the TV!! Take me! Take anything, just not the TV!!!" Then the third forklift releases its grip and shoots the chair out through a hole in the warehouse wall with Johnny still on it. He goes "Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" and is never seen again.

That's it for those three dreams. It was an entertaining night for me. 8)

'scuse me, just copy-pasting things from MSN

I also had, an interesting dream.
*It was really long, but I remember I was basically in some dark town that I think was ruled by, something or other. I basically remember that I generally wanted to escape, but, well, the main way I tried to exit was this forest that had... basically special infected from Left 4 Dead. I think all I saw was a Hunter though, and this other, female one, that wasn't from Left 4 Dead since her power was striking you with lightning, and she could talk.

*Except there was a weird building leading to that exit and they couldn't get you if you were in there or on the town-side of it for some reason so ???
*Except for one time when it seemed like the rules of the town were off for some reason (I forget the other "rules" that were off, something about one of the large buildings being escapable when it wasn't supposed to be or something?), and then I tried to escape except suddenly the monsters could chase me and so I got the chatkill out of there fast.

*Also the other way was boarded up and past that were a bunch of Witches from Left 4 Dead.
*I think there were also some Homestuck characters involved. I'm not sure if I ever saw any directly, but I recall some dying and sometimes they'd come back to life for whatever reason, except I think Sollux basically never came back because he wasn't ever important.
*It was a pretty scary dream though.
*I also remember one time just thinking of it as a video game because I just decided to bust through to the Witch area and get myself killed because I knew I'd respawn, which I did.

And those are all just small parts of the whole. It was one of the weirdest, yet at the same tome most normal dreams I've had. All felt very much like some sort of horror story.

Remember that one dream I had where I chatkill about myself to you in person? This time, DoN was real and she came with me. Once again, I stole my brother's car and went on a cross-country tour of chatkill and moaning. I have no idea how I managed to pay for gas, though, considering that I drove all the way to California, jumped the border to Mexico and went to Canada. Every night consisted of us sleeping in the back seat of the car in an empty parking lot. Many nights were cold, and so were DoN's hands. Police chased us for trespassing and when we went to Mexico, border patrol shot at us. I never really stuck to the path I was going to take to where everyone was and I went so far south I ended up in El Salvador. After taking a u-turn, Mexican gang members attacked us, chatkill the car up and forced us to smuggle illegal immigrants and drugs into the US. Somehow, we managed to escape their control on the way to the Mexico-US border. We never saw them again after crossing the border. Nobody beat the chatkill out of me, but most of you felt bad knowing we slept in the car. DoN tried to chatkill most of you and I'm pretty sure she did Falcon. She also tried to drag me into a threesome with B-Man. I woke up after that happened, so I'm not sure if I went home after I visited him.
